Peacock gives series order to crime drama Superfakes from Beef creator Alice Ju

NBCUniversal-owned streamer Peacock has given a series order to a crime drama called Superfakes from Beef creator Alice Ju.

Created by Ju (Beef, Poker Face), Superfakes follows a small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer who enters a dangerous black market underworld in order to fund a life of suburban respectability for her family.

Ju is showrunner, writer and exec producer on the series, which is produced by A24 and Universal Studio Group’s UCP.

Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie (The Curse, Uncut Gems) are also exec producing, along with Howard Klein (The Office, Parks & Recreation) and Olivia Gerke (Fantasmas) for 3 Arts, Ronald Bronstein and Eli Bush.
